      I know it's Mahler imitating the opening notes of Beethoven's 5th symphony even in most recent times composers have been imitating in different ways the opening notes of Beethoven's 5th, from De Falla (El Sombero de tres picos) to as recent as 2015 when American composer Christopher Rouse not only quotes the famous Beethoven's four notes but also from works by other composers that paid their respects to Beethoven. There is an interview to Christopher Rouse on RUclips where Rouse speaks about his own 5th and how he honors Beethoven's famous four notes.

    Hello to the people editing the videos. It is very confusing to have “Trumpet in Bb” and “in B” written on the part, especially when the performer chooses a D trumpet.

    • @evanmisejka4062
      @evanmisejka4062 6 месяцев назад

      Doesn't matter, the part is written in B (German notation for Bb) and a serious trumpet player doesn't rewrite the part for convenience, we transpose on sight and his use of a D trumpet is his choice (not a good choice in my opinion, it doesn't sound good and it's horribly out of tune). Most players will use a C trumpet and still read in Bb.
